As a parent of 2 enthusiastic Opti sailors, I quickly learned how much gear this sport requires. Anytime we ventured out of our home base of sunny South Florida for a regatta, the packing list and luggage required to haul it all grew tremendously - not to mention the space to store it and the expense of acquiring it. Peer to peer resale marketplaces are not a novel concept but none existed for this very niche, yet worldwide sport. What if we could give new life to the pre-loved, pre-sailed gear our kids have outgrown? What if we could make sailing more accessible to a broader community by providing a one-stop shop to buy a wide range of supplies at a discounted cost? How about building a platform for young entrepreneurs to launch their splicing business? (you all know who you are!)
